Application Parts Technician

SUMMARY:

Provide support to our Business Development and Applications Engineering teams by managing all things related to use of equipment in our tech center and provide parts finishing that meet or exceed customer expectations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gain basic understanding on how to operate equipment and produce 3D models.
  • Develop understanding of all part finishing techniques and the ability to complete specific customer parts.
  • Ability to measure parts using applicable tools and provide accurate results.
  • Works alongside Application Engineering team to manage our company Tech Center and all functions related to the use of the equipment.
  • Works with Applications Engineer and Sales teams to identify and communicate specific material properties and benefits for customer applications.
  • Builds and maintains customer relations to ensure excellent customer service and enhance the company’s image.
  • Involved with running our 3D print prototyping services division, quoting tools and sells our 3D services as well as schedules 3D manufactured parts.
  • Responsible for working in compliance to all Quality Management Systems.
  • Potentially provides periodic training courses on 3D equipment and related print software as well as suggests best practices for producing 3D parts.

Position Overview:
Analyze, interpret, and diagnose unique product issues where utilization of problem solving skills acquired through certified training, and developed through extended interaction with the product, is required to creatively resolve customer concerns and/or product failures, allowing the professional to educate the customer on product, its capabilities and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Builds and maintains customer relations to ensure excellent customer service and enhance the company’s image.
  • Applies knowledge and ability to perform technical repairs according to schedule; seeks additional training/education as appropriate
  • Manages schedule based on proactive customer visits and incoming call volume that meets company and vendor established response time goals.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with the appropriate equipment (ie. Spectrometers, calipers, etc.) to determine most efficient course of action.
  • Services and installs all equipment according to manufacturer and company standards within acceptable time frames as well as rectifies potential problems on location.
  • Recommends additional service requirements and other company offerings as appropriate.
  • Estimates repair costs and provides customer quotes in order to obtain customer authorization prior to beginning service.
  • Travels to customer locations routinely, requiring a vehicle stocked with sufficient tools and supplies.
  • Communicates potential opportunities to co-workers when appropriate.
  • Documents legibly and accurately all work completed to include service ticket information, warranty claims, and returning all necessary parts to manufacturer.
  • Maintains and operates personal vehicle in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Sales/Business Development Professional

Summary: Responsible for supporting the company's sales goals through professional sales techniques and good customer service, maintaining quality relations with existing accounts, and visiting current and potential customer sites for the promotion and selling of products and services on a commission basis by performing the following duties.

  1. Contacts customer, prospect base and major accounts within assigned territory via telephone, electronic mail or own vehicle on a continuous basis to promote product information and ensure satisfactory customer service.
  2. Generate demand and consistent pipeline for assigned products through prospecting, account calls, demonstrations and marketing activities with current customers and new prospects.
